This week I decided to visit Lyman Plant House at Smith College in Northampton, MA. It was a wonderful retreat from the bitter cold winter we’ve been experiencing here in New England. They’re open 7 days a week 8:30am to 4:00pm. Their annual Spring Bulb Show runs March 7 – 22.

Winter continues to offer beautiful opportunities for photography in New England. Checked in at some of my usual haunts this week . . . Downtown Westfield, MA, Storrowton Village in West Springfield, and, of course, Northampton, MA, my favorite photographers’ playground.

Took a short photo drive . . . Stanley Park in Westfield, MA to Granville, MA, to Granby, CT, and back home to Southwick, MA. It just shows that you don’t have to travel far to appreciate the beautiful world that you live in.

I tweaked my back cleaning up after the “storm of the century”. I didn’t want to go out shooting by myself due to the risk of falling in single degree temps. I stayed home and shot dogs and birds until going out to dinner in Northampton Friday night.
